I agree with you. It is a lot easier and you don't worry as much.We know their in Good hands. We also understand the reason behind the training. It's
all good. One of the first letters my husband wrote my son PFC John was "Who yells worst me or the DI's?" Of course my son said my husband. LOL
That stinks your son and his girlfriend had a falling out. Hopefully in time she'll come to some reasoning and start to write to him. He has enough on his
plate to worry about. As long as he focuses and stays motivated he'll do fine. I have a 12 year old daughter. We went to PI on Memorial Day weekend, my
daughters getting too motivated with these visits to the island and wants to go into the Corps. Well you know it's a different story when it's
"your little girl". We bought her a 4th BN T-shirt and she got her picture taken with a female DI (she thought that was the coolest). We'll have
to see we have a few more years left. Take care. Semper Fi-Jmoneysmom Original comment »
Hi kambicon, I think it's so Awesome that your son is following his dream of becoming a Marine. My husband retired about 6 years ago. When my son John
graduated in April (with Lima Company) it was cool for my husband to return to the island. It was 26 years since his return, we went by his barracks. He was in
2nd BN, Fox Company. It looked the same except they moved the sand pit so it's visible. LOL Glad to hear your letters are coming. Take care, Jmoneysmom
